The Final Conference of the CAMP project for BiH was held and Mediterrean Coast Day was celebrated

The project of creating the “Coastal Area Management Program for Bosnia and Herzegovina – CAMP BH”  started in 2020 and in cooperation with the PAP/RAC office from Split and the competent institutions of BiH, after two years, was successfully brought to an end, in accordance with the planned activities.

CoastDay celebration in Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Mediterranean Coast Day celebration took place during a number of events that took place on 23 and 24 September 2021 in the frame of the CAMP B&H project. This included the capacity building activities organised within two training workshops. The first one on sustainable tourism development and in particular on how to balance between the coastal and hinterland, mainly rural, tourism.

Development of the National Contingency Plan in the final phase

Closing the gap of National Contingency Plans in the Mediterranean region – National Workshop in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Neum, 27-28 April 2021

Between 27 and 29 April 2021, Neum, the only coastal town in Bosnia and Herzegovina, hosted two activities for the development of the National Contingency Plan (NCP) of Bosnia and Herzegovina, namely the National Workshop on Emergency Response to marine pollution incidents at managerial level (27-28 April 2021), and the Meeting of competent authorities in charge of the the National Contingency Plan of Bosnia and Herzegovina (29 April 2021).

Development of the Coastal Zone Management Program (CAMP) for Bosnia and Herzegovina has started

On Friday, 5 March 2021 the first working meeting on the topic of sub-activity no. 5 “Sustainable tourism: in the coastal area and hinterland” was held with the aim of preparing a report entitled “Strategic directions of sustainable tourism development of the Municipality of Neum” within the project of developing the Coastal Zone Management Program (CAMP) for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

CAMP B&H gains momentum

The CAMP Bosnia and Herzegovina (B&H) project enters its full implementation phase soon after the Agreement was signed end of June 2020. The inception meeting of its Steering Committee was organized online on 15 October 2020. The Steering Committee is composed of seven representatives from different administrative levels and institutions of B&H and PAP/RAC.

Agreement for CAMP B&H signed

29.06.2020

On 29 June 2020 the Agreement relative to the CAMP project for Bosnia and Herzegovina was signed by Mr. Živko Matuško, Mayor of the town of Neum, for the Government of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Ms. Željka Škaričić, PAP/RAC Director, for the Secretariat of the Barcelona Convention (UNEP/MAP).
